Ok, unimpressed with our corned beef and cabbage meal.  First problem, DH bought New England gray corned beef instead of the red (my mother definitely rolled over in her grave over this).  Second problem, in order to cook the cabbage, the corned beef had to come out, so I felt like the meat was dry and the cabbage was over cooked.  Potatoes were fine.  DH started taking notes on what to do for next year and I said maybe I should just do it on the stove.

sorry about that Hezz -  :(

my fellow pothead bestie did hers in the crock pot - just had a tried and true - can do it without thinking about it recipe and she skilled the instant pot

let's see

I cleaned mine by cooking a lemon this weekend
and then made pulled pork - kind of a mix up - I had left over liquid from my last Asian pork - and left over dry rub from my last ribs - so I used both of them and it turned out yummy - DS and I had pork quesadillas and DH had his with rice

I want to make hummus from dried chick peas......and more yogurt but I'm waiting for my milk delivery

Hezz, I only did the corned beef in the pot, and roasted my cabbage.  I prefer the cabbage to be roasted or sauteed, so I avoid the fat from the corned beef.  If we wanted, I had ladled some of the broth over the beef on the platter, so it was there to add a bit to our veggies if we wanted.

He was going to buy a red one and do another one yesterday, but thankfully he listed to reason because I told him I was done with corned beef until next year.  Then he starts talking about how he will just do a red one in the IP...I said you can do your own, but I will be doing it either on the stove or in the crock pot next year!

I do have another one in the fridge, because it was still on sale and we have leftovers for 1/2 a sandwich.  Ill do it for the weekend, because dh no longer packs lunches.  Now that he works in the city, they all go to buy lunch out...so many options.

I liked the batch that I sautéed first better.  I'm going to make some this weekend too.

Made this tonight:

http://cookfasteatwell.com/easy-pressure-cooker-chicken-curry-chicken-with-rice/

It is nothing like Halal Chicken, but it is darned good.  I did not make the white sauce; I just sprinkled some fresh cilantro on top.  Need to double it next time.

This really could be made easily without the IP as well.

That looks yummy, GN! I'd have trouble with portion control!  You could do a healthy white Save with yogurt, seasoning itcwith the lemon, and cilantro., salt and pepper.

I didn't feel like it needed the sauce, but you're right about doing one with yogurt. OMG, the house smells divine!

Next time I would increase the chicken slightly, and decrease the rice (totally yummy, but I don't need the carbs).  Gawd, I do love curry.

I did the Indian Butter chicken - pretty much doubled it - I don't like bell peppers so I put in a serano and a jalepeno - it was good!   DS and Dh gobbled it up.
