Allergy to Wheat Flour Additive, Azodicarbonamide
« on: July 09, 2019, 12:00:22 AM »
Hi, Azodicarbonamide is additive to wheat that is used to condition wheat by flour manufacturers.  I have had anaphylaxis reactions to wheat products(particularly when combining with exercise) and I am suspecting this additive that is illegal in the EU and has been dropped by Subway.  Wondering if others are suspecting this additive as a possible allergen.

Have you had any reactions to other wheat products, with or without exercise?

In another thread you mentioned a food challenge for this at the allergist. What did they have to say?  People can have reactions to any number of things, and if you have it figured out or even narrowed down, that is a huge first step.

If you are avoiding this ingredient and still having reactions be sure to keep a journal of what you are and your activities afterward to see if there is another connection.

And, always keep two epinephrine autoinjectors on your person.
