Newman’s Own

(1/2) > >>

SilverLining:
Their website says no peanuts/nuts added or in an added ingredient in their bbq sauce.

Anyone know if they label cross contamination?

Anyone eat their products?

SilverLining:
Part of the response,

As stated, there are already very stringent guidelines to protect against cross contamination.  When I checked with the manufacturer allergen listing, there are NO peanuts or tree nuts in the facility.  They do not list sesame however because it is not recognized as one of the 8 FDA recognized allergens.

Not sure when they checked with manufacturer...today...last week....last year...

But sesame is not an FDA recognized allergen, so this is off my list.

Macabre:
There are more authentic BBQ sauces out there for sure. If it’s pretty much all they make, I tend not to have trouble with barbecue sauces—not that I eat it very often.

Macabre:
And it’s not hard to make either.

SL, if you like a sweet/smoky BBQ sauce, I can give you my recipe. I know there's a reason I avoid Newman's Own, but it's been so long I can't even remember why.
