ALLERGY ALERT – UNDECLARED FISH AND/OR EGG IN CERTAIN INSTANT NOODLE PRODUCTS

OTTAWA, February 22, 2010 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to fish or egg not to consume the instant noodle products described below. The affected products contain fish and/or egg ingredients which are not declared on the label.

All lot codes of the following products, imported from Japan, are affected by this alert.

These products have been distributed in British Columbia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to fish or egg.

The importer, True World Foods Inc. of Canada, Richmond, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

OTTAWA, 22 février 2010 – L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) avisent les personnes allergiques au poisson ou aux œufs de ne pas consommer les produits instantanés aux nouilles décrits ci-dessous. En effet, ces produits contiennent des ingrédients à base de poisson et/ou d’œuf alors que l’étiquette n’en fait pas mention.

La présente alerte vise tous les codes de lot des produits suivants, importés du Japon.
