I thought of you yesterday when I got my shot at work, and  I'll be nagging DS when he comes over later.  Must remember to send a nag text to my other DS at school!

I hope you are all well.  So glad you stopped by for a visit!

:bye:  Hello!  So glad you stopped by.

My boys got their flu shots last night, DD is at college this year and she is trying to schedule hers.  I need to set up my own now.

Got our flat shots this evening!  The pharmacist gave me the pneumonia vaccine as well, as I have never had it before, it's prevalent where we live, and I'm considered high risk.  Hurray!

Nice to see everyone getting their flu vaccination!!  Keep up the good work.

Here is a blog my wife did for the website Shot of Prevention https://shotofprevention.com/2017/10/18/3-things-ive-learned-since-losing-my-son-to-flu/

Funny, Not so Funny side note, my wife has just tested positive for Peanut, tree nut, sesame and honey allergies... so we are back to reading labels and researching everything again. Our son had peanut & tree nut allergies, that is how I came to this board in the first place.

Sesame is a toughie. I’m sorry she has to deal with that.
Me: Sesame, shellfish, chamomile, sage
DS: Peanuts

Sesame is a difficult one. A bit easier for me now because Canada has included it in compulsory labelling as an added ingredient and more companies are choosing to label it as a may contain up here.

Flu shots are "coming soon" but I'll have to wait until my cold clears up.

Some here may have seen posts about my uncle passing away. I’m finally ready to talk a bit. Apparently it was the flu. He had been in and out of hospital through December. I know at least one of the visits was pneumonia.

I would assume he got the flu shot, due to his age. But, this year it’s not as effective. It happens. Still worth getting it imo.

That’s the last of the boys in my dad’s family.

He was 88, but healthy. So it was a complete surprise when the flu got so bad.

I have been thinking of this thread and Mumaluke every time I turn on the news. Lots of flu, and quite a few deaths from it.
