Having a devil of a time finding any Guittard in stores these days in eastern USA -- World Market no longer seems to carry here . . . and some Giant's used to, but also no more.

Not in Wegmans or Whole Foods.

Would really like to buy from store rather than online & pay huge shipping.

Otherwise, I'll be on a hunt for them and will hoard when next out West.

*sigh*

Williams Sonoma often has the wafers (but not the chips).  I haven't been to whole foods lately, but last time there were plenty of guittard chips at mine.  I always stock up when I am there.

For grins & giggles I checked Amazon. They do indeed have Guittard. And not only do they have Guittard they have it 50 lb. bags that can conveniently be delivered via mail through heat waves to your front door. Grab your chisel and hammer.

I get Guittard at Christmas Tree Shops.  The store is sometimes hit or miss with them, but I usually find a couple of different varieties there.

I haven't seen the chips in any stores around us.  I have found the Guittard wafers at Sur La Table in a local mall, but expect to pay top dollar.

Once the weather cools in the fall, I have it on good authority that the Guittard fairy is occasionally seen making drop chipments.

;)

Just noting.

LOL!  So, between now and then all I need to do is train our UPS driver to quit bleeping dropping the packages at the garage door where stuff sits in sun all day and haul his lazy rump with packages to the front door where there is shade and overhang?

Ok, I can do that.

I'll bribe him with cupcakes made with Guittard, TYVM.

Doesn't the 50 lb block of melted chocolate chips sound like fun though? Like making my dreams as an 8 year old come true.

twinturbo -- the 50lb block sounds like fun if we return from west with pick ax after prospecting for gold.  LOL!

World Market seems to change their stock as the season warms as well.  I have better luck finding Guittard after Halloween.
DS1 - Wheat, rye, barley and egg

I've also ordered the chips from World Wide Chocolate.  That certainly works when the weather is cooler.  I've found Hershey's chips at Wegmans (though they're not as yummy at Guittard).
