wood filler? Seriously?

This was posted on facebook that wood filler and furniture wax (paste wax?) might contain peanuts or tree nuts? I just bought a book telling dh how to make a few furniture items for our house. Should he not use wood filler or finishing wax on them?? Or are there brands that have proven to be safe?
