Alternative to Cheerios? Cascadian Farms?
« on: October 17, 2013, 08:14:28 AM »
We are looking for an alternative to Cheerios for various reasons.  DD is allergic to PN/TN and soy (hopefully outgrowing this one!:)

Does anyone use Cascadian Farms?  I know TJ O's have a tree nut warning.

We have not, DS2 is not a fan of Cheerio cereals.

Having said that though, we do use Cascadian Farms granola bars (ones that are PF, we are not avoiding tree nuts) - which other people might find risky.

I would call and see if it is in your comfort zone.
DS1 - Wheat, rye, barley and egg
DS2 - peanuts
DD -  tree nuts, soy and sunflower
Me - bananas, eggplant, many drugs

We have used Cascadian Farms Purely O's a lot.  They were a staple before they were purchased by General Mills ( I think that's it).   After that I've called several times and have  gotten conflicting answers but decided that they would be ok.  He doesn't eat them much anymore but I would let him if he wanted them.   DS 10yo PA
