Frito's and Tostito's
« on: May 22, 2014, 09:54:04 AM »
Just wondering how comfortable everyone is with Frito Lay.  Both the Frito's Original Corn Chips and Tostito's Scoops are made in a plant that does not use nuts; however, they are both run on a dairy line.  Frito says they run products in order of allergens...so these would be run first.  And do a thorough clean after allergen-containing products.

Curious about everyone's experience...

Thank you.

We are comfortable with either one.  Neither is a product that we purchase often other than when we are hosting parties, so DS doesn't eat them often, but he is fine when he does.

We're not that sensitive to milk, so we're fine with them.  I mostly responded just to say  :bye:!
TX - USA
DS - peanut, tree nut, milk, eggs, corn, soy, several meds, many environmentals. Finally back on Xolair!
DD - mystery anaphylaxis, shellfish.
DH - banana/avocado, aspirin.  Asthma.
Me - peanut, tree nut, shellfish, banana/avocado/latex,  some meds.

My dd eats both of those products.

One thing I like about them is there are only a small number of ingredients so it is easy to read the ingredient list!

Not happy to read about the shared lines though, even with the safety precautions they told you.

You might be safe, but it's risky.
