Epi-pen and Auvi-Q carriers
« on: July 05, 2014, 09:56:42 AM »
This link is actually for cell phone carriers but I think some would work for epinephrine carriers as well.

If anyone has the flip-belt, please let me know if it works for the epi-pen.

The FlipBelt looks very promising, and possibly even more comfortable than a SPIbelt.  (I find the clip on the SPIbelt uncomfortable sometimes.)  The only thing that I don't like at first glance is that the smallest size it comes is 25" unstretched, which is too big for younger kids or small adults, despite it saying it would fit a 22" waist.  If they would make a smaller one, I'd definitely buy one.  (Maybe I can make my own - it's such a simple design.)

The Fuelbelt I've seen in person and know a few people who own them and really like them.  They look pretty but don't hide well under clothing due to multiple seams, gel loops, and zipper placement.  It's great for over tank tops or running gear though.  I like how the clip is on the size instead of in the middle - more comfortable than SPIbelt in that way. I haven't tried stuffing an EpiPen in the pouch though, and I'm not sure if it would fit.  (I haven't been to run club since last summer, and I seem to think the pouch was smaller than the SPIbelt.)

So the flip belt is designed for working out....which means it would be a good option for ds in drama.  8 think I'll show it to him.

We have a spi belt and it's my least favorite.  I have a flip belt for exercising if I don't have pockets for my phone, epis totally fit in it.  I also have a fuel belt

http://www.fuelbelt.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1447/.f

this one, that fits close to the back and doesn't have the hydration packs or loops.  If we are doing a 5K, this is what I usually carry.  I don't know yet what DS prefers since he is rarely way from me.  He carried his epis to and from day camp in a draw string backpack.

Do two EpiPens easily fit into the Fuelbelt?

Yes, if I knew where it was, I'd take a picture of the epis in there.  Still unpacking, but if I run across it, I'll post a pic.

I found it!!

This is empty

This is two epis.  There is space for a third or inhaler.

I really prefer it when exercising.  I find the spi belt to be bouncy.

I like this and I think DS would like it and would actually use it.  But --- will it really fit an epipen, as it states?  and more importantly, TWO epipens?

That looks great- two Auvi-Qs would fit into the small one.  Much less obtrusive than Epis.   I'd love to hear feedback if anyone tries this out.

I sent them a message asking if they had a picture with 2 epi pens in a case.  We'll see what happens.

Here's their response to asking if they have a picture of the case with 2 epi pens in it...

We do not, but if you can hold a few weeks, we have a new version coming in that will be between 6 1/2 - 6 3/4 inches in length which should be plenty of room.

Does that sound like it would work for you?

Thanks!

Julie
