Since I generally dislike fish (flavor and texture), I typically have to  coat my tilapia or catfish in a fish fry when I do tacos.  I cube the fish and toss in cornmeal, a tiny bit of sugar, and whatever spices float my boat.   8-)  Fry in a pan with some oil.

I do like shad for some reason.  We just broil it with some lemon, olive oil, and fresh thyme.

And I made this with coconut aminos in place of soy:

Kids didn't like it, but I managed to eat it all.

I'm like Becca, I don't really do recipes.  I wing it a lo.

This week I poached some cod fillets in a mixture of water, soy sauce, sherry, with grated ginger and scallions.  Delicious and super easy.

I don't do rice, but the rice with that looks so yummy and makes the dish.

I know this will not work for YKW, but my friend does a salmon with crunchy rice and a banana salsa(has a bit of heat and cilantro) that is divine.  I do not make it due to the T2 diabetes, but it is amazing.  I can reach out fi there is interst here.  The rice dish stands alone as well for the veggies in our group.

Made this during the week.  Twenty minute cook time, minimal prep.  Uber yummy.

I do not use recipes, per se for fish.  we simply grill it with some seasoning and olive oil, sometimes lemon squeezed onto it.  We do this for salamon, tilapia(but "grill" that in foil packets, so it really steams/poaches), swordfish.  If we have haddoc or cod, I bake in on a cookie sheet lined with foil(easy cleanup) and do the same drizzle of evoo and seasoning and lemon.

Linking to the Gumbo thread as it could have shrimp or other water/sea offerings added:

Do you have to grill the fish?  Guessing I can panfry with spices so that it is tasty.

I like Tilapia for fish tacos...I season with cumin, chili pepper, and cayenne, serve with a slaw that has cilantro in it and avocado :)

One time I asked the butcher at a small indie version of a Whole Foods for the fish heads he usually threw out. He asks me if I'm going fishing (use heads as bait). I say nope, making dinner.

When I searched our boards I found this one link to old boards:

Favorite easy fish and vegetarian recipes?

But I thought maybe we needed new thread?

I'm going to *try* to go with at LEAST a "Fish Friday" plan for our household for this year.

Likely will start with easy poached salmon (White wine / Vermouth and dill).

(Rest of meal hope will be a rice pilaf or steamed mini-white potatoes with lemon and parsley, roast carrots, salad.)

Am using frozen salmon this time.  (Have a packed freezer and am working on using up things . . . )

I want to make FISH TACOS next week.  Anyone have good recipe?  Fish suggestions?

I'll use shredded cabbage and radish for the topping, real Mex white cheese (Cotija or something like that), and likely a lime-cilantro sour cream.  Tortillas will be corn.  Avocado too . . .
