General Mills
All of their cereals with Vitamin E list it as "Mixed Tocopherols" which can be soy-based (I also avoid them because they could be peanut based as well)

Kelloggs Cereals
Packaging states "Our corn contains traces of soybeans"

Pringles Chips
Even the chips that are baked with Sunflower Oil contain Soy Lecithin.

Moon Pies
Contains Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil & Soy Flour

Rice Krispie Treats (pre-packaged)
States it may contain Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil & does contain Soy Lecithin.  Also lists Mixed Tocopherols but does not list the sources.

Most butters & margarines are made from soybean oil.

Just got to thinking and thought I would add the following:

Oreos
Soy Lecithin

Chocolate Chip Cookies (most companies)
Contain soy in some form - usually Soy Lecithin

Uhhh . . .

Butter is NOT made from soybean oil.  Margarine or veg oil spread, yes.  Butter, no.

Chocolate (in almost any form)
Contains Soy Lecithin

So much for my rare chocolate indulgences, which usually center around Christmas (Andes Mints, Nestle Crunch Jingles) and Easter (Cadbury Mini Eggs)  :-[

Don't forget in an earlier post I told you that the darker the less lecithin. And most contain only half of a percent of lecithin. A chocolatier told me this.

But I do believe there are some rare ones without it. I found them on the internet but I hate mail order.

Hey HobboEtta,
Do you know about Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips? No soy lecithin! No dairy either, incidentally.

About the x-contamination issues with Kelloggs---I've heard that corn in general can be contaminated with soy (I'm not sure about this, though). Maybe Kelloggs knows this and is just being cautious? It doesn't matter either way to me because I can't have corn either.

I didn't know about the enjoy life chocolate. Is it real chocolate? Enjoy life takes so many allergens out that it's amazing they can come up with such good substitutes. I will look for it next time I'm at fairways.

What stores has these enjoy life chocolates been found? It seems it'll be the only enjoy life product that we could buy but it's the only one I have not seen in stores where I've seen other enjoy life products.

I'm so dissapointed. I have these granola boxes and bars from them that dd loved the taste of and I absolutely hated....... it's too bad she reacted to them.

I generally don't buy enjoy life products either---I have issues with flax. i think their bars have sunflower seeds in them or something.

i have tried their ginger cookies--i will eat them on the rare occasion, although i don't do so well with xanthan gum (probably because it is usually derived from corn) and sometimes have issues with sorghum flour.

anyways--the chocolate chips. (i think i failed to mention that they just make chocolate chips as opposed to chocolate bars or cocoa powder.) I'm in Ontario---sometimes the chocolate chips are in Zehr's (a grocery store chain--but I'm pretty sure you don't have that store in the US). If you have a Whole Foods near you, you might try them--they sell them in the Whole Foods stores in Ontario.

If you find a store that sells some Enjoy Life products but not the chocolate chips, you might be able to ask them to order the chocolate chips for you. They have very few ingredients--if I remember correctly, all that's in them is cocoa, cocoa butter, sugar.

You're right!!!  And yes, it's the chocolate chips I never have.  I just take the bars and crunch pieces off with a knife but I always wished I had chips.

I have found 2 Enjoy Life products at a local Kroger store. Unfortunately, I can't get them to carry the chocolate chips or the cookies  >:( (filled out a request and no one ever called or ordered them)

Update: 6/1/08 - Kroger finally ordered the chips!! I got about four bags before they doubled the price. Now the regular size bags are almost $6.00 each!!  :banghead:

Food Lion's generic cool whip

Have I mentioned that most of Food Lion's generic foods scare me?
