LOTTE Int’l America Corp. located in Los Angeles, CA is recalling its 1.48-ounce packages of "Kancho Choco Biscuit" manufactured by LOTTE Confectionery Co. Ltd. Korea because of findings of small amounts of peanut in the product and no peanut declaration.
LOTTE Int’l America Corp discovered this fact through lab test result done by CFIA and notified manufacturer and all customers right away about this discovery.
Since LOTTE Int’l America Corp. is very well aware of the severe consequences of allergen reaction to peanuts, we voluntarily initiated recall procedure right after discovery of the problem. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. LOTTE Int’l America Corp is sending out the letter to all the customers including wholesalers, distributors, retailers who carries ‘Kancho Choco Biscuit’ to stop selling and recall all the products.
"Kancho Choco Biscuit " were distributed nationwide and Canada, mostly in ethnic retail stores and online stores.
The product comes in a 1.48-ounce, plastic wrap package within a paper carton package marked with UPC Code # 8801062 144815 on the side.
Production of the product has been suspended until FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.
LOTTE Int’l America Corp is working fully in partnership with FDA to fully investigate the matter and comply with all necessary recall procedures. The Company is also taking the necessary steps to address this issue and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this product issue.
Consumers who have purchased 1.48-ounce packages of " Kancho Choco Biscuit " are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-213-688-8806 (Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm).
