Does anyone use Peeps. I think they are nasty but would like them for my DS in Easter basket if they are ok!

Yes, plain ones are safe.  Chocolate covered peeps are not safe.  There was another new one that is not safe also but I can't think of it off the top of my head. 

I trust their labeling.

I know that the chocolate ones are not safe for milk, but are they unsafe for other allergies too?

I'm sorry I should have clarified...plain peeps are safe for PA/TNA.  The chocolate covered peeps are unsafe for PA/TNA. 
I saw the other new one which was a rice krispie peep bunny sort of thing that also read safe for PA/TNA.

Jessma...what allergies are you dealing with?

For valentines day I found the ones that were just dipped in chocolate (not covered) were safe for PA/TA...

For the record, I think they are unspeakably nasty as well.


However, the plain (er-- neon) peeps are safe for PA/TNA and egg allergies.

Also the ones that are on a stick with multiple peeps are not safe (last I checked).

We use plain Peeps for our TN/PN allergic child.

My kids adore peeps (I only like the random ones that are really stale months later, think it fits into my Chef Boyardee obsession).  But I refuse to put them on a safe list because of all the different variities - I have brought them in myself but don't allow others to purchase for them.

Any updates?  The cross-contact warnings seem arbitrary in 2017.  Would like to know about the Birthday Cake Peeps.  Yes, I know these are not in any way, shape, or form, anything close to what one might consider a food.  So, is the edible spray-painted sponge safe for PN?

I have an older brother who eats them at every holiday and in between.  Same guy that puts about 8 tsp of sugar in his coffee.

Just Born labels well for may contains, shared lines and contains - if I don't see a warning, I buy.
