Yes I went to the doctor yesterday so they could discuss the finding. I have an allergist appt Monday so they can figure out what I am allergic to. I have taken all seafood and nuts out for years. Really have no idea what the allergy can be. I went gluten free about 10 days ago, before the diagnosis. I have severe swelling in my esophagus seen on CT, MRI and endoscopy that was causing severe pain. They had assumed it was GERD before. They prescribed some type of steroid that you swish around your mouth and swallow. I have to go to a special pharmacy to get it. It is usually a inhaled steroid, but thy are making it a liquid form. It is quite a drive so we are going tomorrow. My dh and I cannot figure what it may be. Sometimes when we go out to eat, I tell him my throat feels weird or swollen, but we cannot pinpoint a specific food. Really didn't expect this. My extended family thinks I am crazy. Sometimes easier to not say anything.

Do you get a follow up with the doctor? That's a little impersonal to drop that on you over the phone. There is at least one of the parents here who was diagnosed EE as well. Hopefully she sees this. How're you holding up diet-wise post diagnosis?

They just called me yesterday with the pathology from my scope and diagnosed me with this. They said it appears I have severe food allergy that is affecting my throat. They are putting me on allergy meds and an inhaler (to treat the swelling in my throat). Could this be caused by other things then allergies?
