Here is a list of soy-free snacks that I have recently incorporated into my new diet:

Naturally Preferred Potato Chips by Kroger
Cocoa Loco Snack Bars by enjoy life foods
Not Nuts Trail Mix by enjoy life foods
Honey Graham Sticks by Back to Nature
Crispy Cheddars by Back to Nature
Lite Cheese Puffs by Seasons Snacks

I also eat a lot of aged cheeses because they usually do not contain soy. My favorite is Colby Jack Smiley

Other soy free items I now use:

Fleishman's Butter Spread ~ made with Canola Oil, light texture & tastes great!
Rice Crispies Cereal (plain)

Don't the rice crispies state "may contains?" If I'm
confusing them then I'm buying them again to make the treats, yum.

More Products, please add more if you know of them.

1. Wild oats organic popcorn plain
2. Dr. Oetker Organics puddings (coconut, chocolate, mocha, vanilla)
3. Fruita Bu organic smooshed fruit
4. Fairways frozen Manicotti, has no allergen label though
5. There are new cold cuts with no soy or sulfites or preservatives (will insert when I find it)
6. xochitl topos de maiz (corn chips)

This is how the box for Rice Krispies reads:

Ingredients
RICE, SUGAR, SALT, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, MALT FLAVORING,

VITAMINS AND IRON: IRON, ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C), NIACINAMIDE, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12 AND VITAMIN D. TO MAINTAIN QUALITY, BHT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE PACKAGING

I have not seen any packages with "May Contains" but it's always best to check because different factories may be different. I do know that pre-packaged Rice Krispy Treats do contain Soy Lecithin - and I have ingestion & contact reactions to them (found out the hard way).

Thanks for posting the ingredients. You saved me a trip. We are avoiding barley and the malt flavoring most likely is made from it. I knew there was a reason why I wasn't buying it anymore. That also reminds me of why I haven't been able to find any good tasting cereals (let alone any that dd can actually have) except for Enjoy life but they contain flaxseed and sunflower seeds and I'm still waiting for the rast test results.

The doctor said, if it bothers her then it doesn't matter what rast says. But it's so hard to have no measure and no way to know for sure.

Finding cereals without soy is enough of a challenge - I can only imaging how difficult it must be when you add in other allergies too. Smiley

It's Awful

That Barley is in every cereal, malt flavoring.....I get so mad. The enjoy life doesn't but they have the sunflowers and the flaxseed. I even entertained the thought of making a cereal. I used to make cream of wheat for her but now she says it makes her tongue itch. At one point I thought she was slowly becoming allergic to all foods. I read about a case where this happened and the person was starving to death in a hospital.

I never found the article.

Anyway, it takes you back to the days of eggs and bacon I don't give it to her because of the sulfates. Once in a blue I'll give it to her. I make her egg salad on home made bread. Or scrambled with pieces of chicken and cheese. She loves the stuff. I make muffins and freeze them. Come to think of it I should make some it's been a while.

I make my own pancake mix. Do you like or eat pancakes?

It's so hard. Lately I've been packing an organic pop tart, horizon milk, organic fruit roll up along with breakfast to eat in the car and send her off to school where I know she will not be eating lunch.

Organic pop-tarts?1?! Please share Smiley

I love muffins, but I am afraid I am not much of a pancake cook - never mastered the art Smiley

When my soy allergy was just an occasional flare-up, I used to eat NutraGrain Eggo Waffles - they were wonderful!! I have not had them in about a year now, and I miss them terribly.

Guess it's time to invest in a bread machine & waffle iron Smiley

Do you know of any pre-made bread mixes without soy?

Have to get the bread out but before I go how about

Those Internet Allergen Free Product Websites

It's mail order. Pricey, but an option.

I'll get the name of the pop tarts. I just found out that they labeled for 'made in a facility' but dd eats them with no problem. I was mad just the same, so until I find an alternative she can have them.

The bread mixes can be found at Fairways organic food section

Do you have a Fairways? Probably not if you say the Whole Foods is Far. Well you're going to have to make the trip and stock up girl. Smiley

I go to another state to shop all the time myself. I go to a wholesale food warehouse. Of course it's a matter of just crossing a tunnel and there I am. But dd allergist is 1 hr away in another state too.

Yesterday, I found some organic bread & tortillas made from spelt (wheat), that do not contain soy. *jump for joy* Smiley These products taste so good - the tortillas do not have as much of a sweet/sour taste as regular tortillas(huge plus for me!). I can finally eat potato sandwhiches again (yes, I know, a little weird Smiley ).

Here are the two products I purchased:

Spelt Bread by Berlin Natural Bakery
Whole Spelt Tortilla's Rudi's Organic Bakery

Check out these Amy's vegetarian products. They have a special site listing their soy free products. The country pot pie is the best frozen pot pie I've ever tasted.

Just got back from the only store where I live that carries Amy's products - they only had three items, no pot pies Smiley

I did get the Vegetable Lasagna, it's pretty good (think I would have liked the Cheese Lasagna better though)

Plain Bagels by Cobblestone Mill

Their Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bagels are also soy-free. However, the Multi-Grain Bagels have soy oil - good thing I did not pick these up first, or I would have passed the plain ones up!

Bread is back!! I haven't had sandwich bread or bagels in months!!! I may have a carb overdose before the day is over Smiley

Kroger Plain Bagels are soy free as well! Not any more Smiley
