Mfrs. & Packaged Food / Sweet Loren's Place & Bake Cookie Dough

I was zipping through the grocery store and a new product caught my eye.  Most of the time, it goes right back down on the shelf, but this time it went in my basket.

Here's the info: A first of its kind cookie dough: gluten free, vegan, non GMO, plant based, dairy free, nut free, 100% whole grain, and kosher pareve.

We have not tried them yet, but I bought the chocolate chip ones to try this weekend.

I know Mac has posted about these before but I can't find the thread (so if you want to merge threads, it's ok by me).  BJ's had a coupon in their booklet for them and it's amazing that my BJ's actually had them in stock.

A perk to food allergies: most non-allergen food recalls are often processed foods we would never be able to eat in the first place.

Lidl US has voluntarily recalled all Bellona brand “Milk Chocolate Flavored Coated Wafer with Hazelnut Crème Filling and White Chocolate Flavor” confections as a precautionary measure because the allergen statement does not include wheat.
Wheat flour is correctly listed as the second ingredient on the package, but the allergen statement does not include wheat alongside the properly declared allergens listed. People who are allergic to wheat can run the risk of serious and sometimes life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
After the problem was discovered, Lidl US immediately removed all affected products from its shelves. The affected product was sold at all Lidl US stores. The company has not received any complaints in relation to this product and is not aware of any allergic reactions associated with it.

CAUTION: Walt Disney World has introduced mobile ordering for special diets and allergy menus and it's a HUGE red flag for me.  HUGE.  These menus do not take cross contact, traces, or multiple allergens into consideration.  For everyone here, please DO NOT use mobile ordering - or order from the regular 'allergy' menus if you have a (severe) food allergy!!  Always speak with a chef.  ALWAYS!

There, my PSA is over for the day.  Oh my goodness, this is frightening.  I know most of you here know better, but I feel the need to share the finer details, because they aren't so obvious.

A few years back, I spoke with one of the Disneyland chefs who helped develop the food allergy menus in the first place and he was terrified that someone with a severe allergy would casually order from the allergy menu, not mention their allergy, and their meal end up with traces, or a mix up that caused a reaction.  Even he didn't agree that the allergy menus should be handled by patrons without a chef consultation.  They are guidelines, not guarantees.

I posted some photos of the app, and Disney's allergy notice (which says to speak with a chef), on my work FB page, for those that follow it.

I'm glad it went well over all and you were safe despite the challenges!  I'd love to hear about how your shore excursions went and whether you ate/were able to eat off ship, too.
