Mfrs. & Packaged Food / Re: MarbleSlab

The good news is, the guy working at the store was aware and honest.

He said everything is made in the store and therefore could be cross contaminated. Even the tubs are filled in the store, so they are not safe.

Marble Slab in person would not be safe. Ever. I haven’t seen prepackaged items for sale around here in grocery stores, but I haven’t been inside a Marble Slab since high school.  If they have safe packaged items, I would want to try them.

Never heard of it, but the name reminds me of Cold Stone, where they mix add-ins into ice cream on slabs of granite or marble.  There’s nothing safe at Cold Stone; even if a given flavor was safe, everything would be X-contaminated.

Anyone familiar with the ice cream company Marble Slab?

They started in USA and have expanded into Canada.

They claim some products free from peanut and tree nut (including trace amounts). Including ice cream cakes.

Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy / Flexoril possible may contain
« Last post by becca on March 17, 2024, 01:28:45 PM »
Dd is dealing with a severe neck pain/pinched nerve.  She was prescribed some meds which are not helping, so Dr is switching them.  When she put Flexoril into her computer, it flagged a peanut allergy and was either a may contain or cross contamination warning.  I forgot exactly the phrasing and it was from dd telling me.   The pharmacy did not see that, but Dr called dd to let her know and they decided to stick with the muscle relaxer she’s been using, and switched her other med to a steroid.

Thought I’d share in case it’s a concern for anyone.

Angelic Bakehouse has closed.

They announced it yesterday—effective March 12.

They were one of the few US breads safe for people with a sesame allergy.
