Really comprehensive and helpful for those looking at getting 504s for LTFAs. Smiley Every school district is a little different. What gets through to one won't necessarily to another - which is why it's a good idea to know your stuff inside out and backwards when you go ask for a 504.

Wow, fabulous. I came to main to find out if anyone had posted FAAN's new version of allergy plan if not so that I could post a link to it. I thought it was fabulous too (the new action plan) and am using it tomorrow. But I came accross Mc's post and it caught my attention because it educates and answers the questions people wonder about.

I cannot believe how long it is, you've covered it all. I'm a fan of long. Dd old school was always more than happy to show up with my file in hand at meetings so that I could see how fat it was with all the letters I'd written throughout the years. That was after 7th grade. Before that I never wrote any.

I had to think back to why it is that my daughter got a 504 (when she was 5 years old) when I never wrote any letters at all. If I was lucky then why did I go through so much hell afterwards? Everything written in Mc's could've helped after I got the 504 to get dd specific accommodations. Dd 504 was plain nothing written in accommodations, how ignorant was I. Can't believe I got a 504 at all. That was then. New chapter 13 years later.

I wonder if you would mind if I were to take everything here minus your son's info. I don't know who I would like to give it to, but I'm sure it would be appreciated by dd new school. I'm sure even the students would like the information. I'd leave it in the common room at her dorm. It might even help their own kids and family in the future or families they'll know that have food allergies.
