Looking for new ideas:
What sort of meals do you like to make
when on the go, travelling, or otherwise without a full kitchen? Think road trips, staying in a hotel, picking up stuff from a random grocery store in a foreign country (no time to call companies), etc.
To get the thread started, here are some things we make whilst on the go and without a kitchen (not including items that are fully pre-made at home before we leave, of which we bring plenty):
- instant oatmeal (from home) made with heated water from the tap or in a microwave
- instant or regular rice made in a microwave, plus add-ins like chickpeas and cut up vegetables
- sushi, made with aforementioned microwave rice
- wraps - only if we can find a brand guaranteed to be safe, which is impossible these days even at home
- plain salad
- instant broth (from home) with whatever we can find to add to it: chickpeas, veggies, etc. Not exactly a
good soup.
We're headed to Seattle in a week and I'm just too burnt out with food stuff to think of what to bring/make and I'd really like something more than oatmeal, rice and veggies. I'll stock up on Chipotle as much as I can whilst there as we don't have one on the island so it's a real treat for me.
