ALLERGY ALERT – UNDECLARED MILK PROTEIN IN DAI PAI DONG BRAND NO SUGAR ADDED INSTANT SOYA MILK

OTTAWA, January 5, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Mocaroma (Canada) Ltd. are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume Dai Pai Dong brand No Sugar Added Instant Soya Milk described below. The affected product contains milk which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, Dai Pai Dong brand No Sugar Added Instant Soya Milk, is sold in a 160 g box containing 8 sachets of 20 g each, bearing UPC 4 891444 304917 and Best Before date 31-10-11 (October 31, 2011).

This product has been distributed in Ontario.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.

The importer, Mocaroma (Canada) Ltd., Scarborough, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Le produit visé contient du lait alors que l’étiquette n’en fait pas mention.

Le produit visé, lait de soja instantané sans sucre ajouté de marque Dai Pai Dong (Dai Pai Dong brand No Sugar Added Instant Soya Milk), est vendu dans une boîte de 160 g contenant 8 sachets de 20 g chacun et portant le CUP 4 891444 304917 et la date « Meilleur avant » 31 10 11 (31 octobre 2011).

Le produit visé a été distribué en Ontario.

Aucun cas de maladie associé à la consommation de ce produit n'a été signalé.

La consommation de ce produit peut déclencher une réaction grave, parfois mortelle, chez les personnes allergiques au lait.

L’importateur, Mocaroma (Canada) Ltd., situé à Scarborough (Ontario), retire volontairement du marché le produit visé. L’ACIA surveille l’efficacité du rappel.
