Junior Mints Deluxe
« on: November 03, 2011, 02:42:14 PM »
I saw the post about Cella's Chocolate covered cherries being safe so I literally got in my car and drove to Target to pick some up and much to my delight I found Junior Mints Deluxe. They come in a box of 10. I called Tootsie and they are safe for DS (he can tolerate soy lecithin). It seems too silly to be excited to give him boxes of chocolates, but it is too cool! Normalcy is underrated in the non-allergic world. Feeling very normal today!
CS Rep at tootsie also told me that Junior Mints got rid of soy albumen so those are back on our list too :)

The box says that they are manufactured on shared equipment with milk and may contain incidental milk. However I was drooling looking over their product list and they have loads of other candies. I am now on the hunt for the cotton candy - DS has never had it! Hope you find some safe treats too!

For a long time, these had egg traces.

Then for a while, they actually had egg as an ingredient.

Has that changed??

I was wondering the same thing.  The last time I checked Jr Mints still had egg as an ingredient.

The Junior Mint Deluxe are supersized Junior Mints - they look like the Chocolate Covered Cherries - they are that big. Not the little Junior Mints you buy at the movie theater. Here is a link to the product:

OMG, they look so good.  Perhaps Santa will bring those this year.  Thanks for posting.  I did not know about them and we eat Junior Mints all the time!

Bag of Junior mints here says "milk and egg may be present."  It is not in the ingredient list, however.  So, sort of like  "may contain" statement.

Dd can eat baked egg and these work for her.

So I just dumped the mix of tootsie rolls, junior mints, charleston chews and dots into a bowl for halloween to make sure we would have enough...the little boxes of junior mints are labeled with the peanut free symbol.  Also says "produced in a facility that does not use peanuts, tree nuts or gluten."  None of the other items were labeled that way, but it was nice to see it on the little boxes which companies have in the past not bothered to mark.
