Hi everyone,
I'm looking to make my homemade granola bars a little less sugary and a lot moister and would like to use dates.
Can anyone recommend a safe brand?  I'm squeamish when it comes to dates/figs/dried fruits; so many are imported and it is hard to trace the x-contact trail. Thanks in advance!
(Not new here, joined years ago when son 1st diagnosed, he's almost 11 now. I used my son's name in my profile name then, can't/won't do that now.)
I mostly visit/read (lurk--hate that word) but would like to get back in the loop with you all! I'll say Hi soon in the hello thread  :bye:.

I don't use dates often, but last time I did, I used Sun Maid.

SunSweet.  They are great and I've called on them (about 2 years ago though).

Thanks for the replies! I just came home with SunMaid dates, did not even think to look by the raisins.
(I always thought of dates as a bulk item from the produce dept, sold by the #, and have avoided those.)
I read the back of a Dole package, it clearly stated may contain nuts.
Making a batch this weekend,  fingers crossed that they come out sweet and moist!
