so, has anyone been tested for their own histamine reacting with each other and causing reactions?

or tested for natural yellow food colouring?

anyone had a 'issac' test?

My son's allergist says that natural yellow food coloring can not cause IgE reactions because it doesn't contain any protein unlike red dye made from those tiny beetles (carmine).  I do believe yellow dye can cause behavior issues in some but it should not cause an allergic reaction.

I have not had or heard of testing for histamine reacting with each other and causing reactions.  Some foods are high in natural histamine and cause minor facials hives but that isn't considered serious afaik.

DS hasn't had an isac test.  I do not know much of anything about it.  Google doesn't show enough links on it. It sounds very new.

i think natural yellow colouring is annato, which is comes from a seed, so does have the same problem as the pink one made from beatles.

i think we are entering a very rare area. :(

Oddly enough our allergist believes yellow dye is what caused DS2's two mystery ana rxn's in Mahatma yellow rice mix.  Why is it a guess?  Mahatma refuses to release a list of ingredients to our allergist, will just answer yes or no questions.  Who has time to play 20 questions.  If he has the reaction again (mystery wise) to another food, we might push back and hope that it's a brand that will fess up.
DS1 - Wheat, rye, barley and egg
DS2 - peanuts
DD -  tree nuts, soy and sunflower
Me - bananas, eggplant, many drugs

Turmeric is another spice used for yellow coloring, beta carotene as well. Betalains (beet) and black carrot for reds. I have no idea what I spelled correctly or missed there. No time to check.
