I never got any acknowledgment of my submission to Allergic Living.  So I decided to self-publish it on the Creativity Post.

very clear. wish I had read this in 2006 -- when preschool began.  My preschool was peanut-free and it was, as you may geuss, highly resented by some, and there were a sprinkling of  menschs. While my child does have a high tolerance of traces -- back then I HAD seen him react to crumbs on tables from peanut butter cookies with hives on face and coughing. So i'd say it was a justifiable accomodation.

I was astonished when in K - which was NOT p-free to discover they'd resent p-free parties -- for 11 little kindergarteners. Astonished. And the resentful parents who bring stuff in despite the teacher's request that they do not ---Now I get it. And this article really addresses that.
