Kinder eggs. They are not allowed in the US.  My kids (17 & 14) love them.  So do DD's friends who have been to Europe.

If you get caught bringing the in to the US they will take them away from you.  I don't know if you would actually get into trouble or not.

I'd get the foodstuff and skip the kinder eggs. Have seen too many news articles lately like this one

DD and I brought some back on our last trip to Canada.  No problems.  Not like they searched the car.  And DH has brought them back from Europe a couple of times.  I would think the worst they would do if you are caught is just confiscate them.  Unless you are trying to bring in so many that its obviously not just for you and your family.

ETA: I posted before seeing that article.  All the things that could be smuggles across the border and they are that worried about kinder eggs?

Yeah, it's not worth the risk of getting fined now. Stupid US law. They allowed a US company to make something similar but with a toy capsule that has ridges sticking out of the chocolate... It isn't nut safe though.

I ended up going to Walmart, Sobeys, Zehrs, Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart and Metro. None of the stores had the bags of snack size aero bars. They were hard to find last time too so I don't know what's going on with those. I did however find some cool leftover Easter candy. They had a large hollow nut free chocolate SpongeBob at Zehrs and a large hollow nut free chocolate Lightning McQueen at Shoppers Drug Mart. I didn't see any Freddo or Lady Sarah items at Dollarama but the store was pretty small so I may have I picked a bad location. Metro seemed to be the only place that carried chocomax bars.

glad you were able to find some stuff.

too bad about the Dollarama being a smaller one.
