Oh I'm so sorry. Poor kiddo. Poor mom. Do something fun today to make up for the disappointment if you can. :grouphug:

This might sound too chipper but it wasn't a horrible fail and you've got current hard data from a clinician. That'll help in knowing what accommodations are necessary and showing why. Sorry though challenges are tough. I'm not very good at them.

I'm sorry.  I will share with you what we were told at our recent appointment with Dr. Wood.  His nurse practioner said that they're seeing more egg allergic kids have trouble with baked egg.  The milk allergic seem to tolerate baked milk better.

:grouphug:  We're still waiting to shake egg over here too...bloodwork says he shouldn't be allergic.  Multiple challenges prove otherwise.  Failed challenges stink.

TT- that's what doctor said.  We know he hasn't outgrown, but also a cake crumb isn't likely to induce a reaction.  I just wish ranch dressing and mayo didn't exist, so I could relax with him in school this year  :disappointed:

Oh, I'm sorry...

This is why we started with SUCH a low dose, though-- we knew that she hadn't really outgrown to the point that she was going to tolerate a full 'baked' dose like a normal person would.

I'm so glad that we did that.  DD definitely wouldn't have passed a challenge with a regular recipe-- and she was a lot older than your little one.   :grouphug:  (I'm mentioning that only to give you some hope that you might want to try again in a few years.)

What a bummer for your family.  I'm sorry that it wasn't a more positive outcome.
Resistance isn't futile.  It's voltage divided by current.

I know this is a little outdated, but wanted to add our experience -- We must be one of the kids Dr. Wood's office is referring to because my son had a tremendous FAIL to his egg challenge a couple of years ago at JH.  2 bites of the baked-egg recipe cupcake and anaphylaxis.  We were really disappointed especially because Dr. Wood's office was telling people at the time that most did fast - he thought we were an exception.  I am beginning to think he just won't grow out of egg and it is a very dangerous one for him.

allerav,
Sorry to hear that. DD is 12.5 and I'm pretty certain she won't outgrow egg. However, I think she probably would have tolerated baked egg if the guidance had been such when she was first diagnosed at 9 months. I think with DD the fact that she's just so used to not having egg and knows she's still allergic to it, may lead to some psychosomatic symptoms.
