My family doctor prescribed ADVAIR because he said it was better than either of the two meds I was using separately for asthma...they are combined in Advair along with a carrier. Unbeknown to me, I found out after calling the company when I realized Advair was making my asthma worse, not better, that it has lactose in it as one of it's ingredients! My doctor knows I am very allergic to all dairy...yet, his excuse when I confronted him with it was..."Oh, there's not enough lactose in there to make you sick!" I changed doctors!!!!
