Hard Rock Cafe: New Orleans
« on: September 08, 2013, 08:49:28 PM »
Coastal cities are a challenge with SFA. We had tried Boston's Hard Rock Cafe three years ago and found it wonderfully accommodating and very little seafood too. I thought the good outcome might be due to Massachusetts's restaurant law and the manager. We were worried about staying in downtown New Orleans as there were absolutely no chain restaurants. All the nearby restaurants seemed to be amazing and enticing--but with SFA/PN/TN, we didn't want to risk it. We thought we'd try the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans.

We visited Hard Rock at 3 pm and checked with the manager. Then ate there the following night and rechecked the options with a different manager. Both managers were excellent. Absolutely excellent. Met us, read the Chef's cards. Offered us options. Made us feel like welcomed guests.

The managers described that Hard Rock Cafes have a system in place at all location. There's a "purple box" which is a separate set of utensils and not used unless for allergy requests. Can be used for a customer with an allergy to avoid cross contamination. They also had booklets of all their food items and included "may contains" in the information.  Seems as if all HRCs have the same procedure with a stash of utensils, cutting boards, etc.

It is also on Bourbon street but only a block in.
