Snack factory Pretzel Crisps
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:38:00 AM »
Saw these yesterday.  Looks like they have  a variety of flavors (none are nut flavors).  Looks like they are labeled well and even state a "contains wheat"  "made in a facility that processes milk and soy".

I found a thread from 2011 stating they were safe.  Anyone PA/TNA use these?   Plan on giving them a call later.

Yes-- DD and DH both use them.  That covers peanut, almond, pistachio, cashew, and walnut.

I also eat them, so I'll vouch for safety on shellfish.

:)

They are a great snack-- good cracker substitute with hummus or another spread, and they are available a LOT of places.

DD eats them. They're a staple for her (she eats them with hummus).  She's allergic to egg, peanut, walnut, brazil nut, almond, pecan, hazelnut, pine nut, pistachio, and cashew.

Boo! To the sesame flavor (or rather the sesame allergy!).  I got excited for a minute.

I've seen the snack size packets at my local Super Target. I just usually buy the huge bag at Costco and put some in small baggies for DD.

The wheat/barley/milk is the most severe risk for my other child. I don't have a kitchen or house large enough to segregate a large bag of pretzel snack plus DS2 can't differentiate that snack from others it would be really dangerous to have a large open bag around.

Got it.  Totally understand.  I have seen the individual bags at Target.

I've looked for those individual bags at Safeway, K-mart, Freddies, and come up empty (except for 7.2 oz size, which they DO have).  So Target may be necessary.

Amazon has the plain ones in the 2oz size (I'm assuming you'd prefer no overt milk ingredients):

Just in case you strike out at Target.

The garlic parmesan and chipotle cheddar are both awesome, in that case.  Not that DD shares them very well.

Did it look like this

The Snack Factory Limited Edition Pretzel Crisps Gourmet Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Gourmet Pretzel Crackers

I wonder if they were farmed out to a different factory or same. I checked out some of the different flavors on the website, any of the candy coated ones all have a peanut, tree nut and sesame warning on the package (Limited Edition or Holiday). The rest of the flavors only have the standard warning. Which leaves us with the question are the candy coated ones finished in a different facility or is their labeling inconsistent like we run those in limited batches so only part of the year are they possibly contaminated.

lol. "Rethink your pretzel!" I might just take them up on their advice.
