Tree nuts that are not cross-contaminated with peanut?
« on: March 15, 2014, 03:28:44 PM »
I never thought this day would come but my son has tested negative (RAST) for all tree nuts except hazelnut and his allergist has recommended a food challenge.  My son is still allergic to peanut so if he does undergo the food challenge for select tree nuts, I'll have to find peanut-free tree nuts.  Not only that, but ideally, there should be no cross contamination with hazelnut!  I think I am looking for what may not exist?
Okay, if I forget the hazelnut cross-contamination, what about peanut-free tree nuts?  I would need almond, pistachio, cashew, pine nuts, brazilnut, pecan and walnut.  I know of Blue Diamond almonds.  Are there any other brands?

Thanks!
