Oh no doubt they did the math. On their facebook page a week or two ago there were quite a few more that didn't like the Asian salad than the ones that did. Actually most seem to be asking for some kind of baja chicken salad (??) to come back.
I'm sure their math included a risk assessment...all it takes is ONE reaction from one person/child to be publicized (and hopefully not fatal, but that COULD happen) --- with employees and broken packets and peanut sauce getting over everything.
I bet "someone" never thought about that and they are now getting notes like becca's (I sent one too) about leaky packets...they DO exist and they know the packets/sauces leak/break.
I'm happy to see they are responding. People will forget about it once they stop advertising it. Or - they will reformulate quickly, maybe with roasted soynut chunks in it instead of peanuts. Once roasted, soynuts are SO similar. I've fooled friends with taste-tests! Particularly if you cover with a flavor (even making them super salty).
Soy...is in everything they have anyway...so I'm guessing (
) this won't make Wendy's more of a risk for soy allergic (who might not go there anyway??)
