I grew up with that as well, but we started it I the toaster, then transferred it to the broiler after adding the cheese.  Yum!  I made it for my kids when they were young, but they didn't like it.  Haven't tried it again with them.

I did it with the soft underside--not toasted at all.

Okay--now I am wanting to go out and but a loaf of bread (DH bakes ours and it's not  the right shape).
Me: Sesame, shellfish, chamomile, sage
DS: Peanuts

This morning I made da a Nutella roll up with fresh raspberries inside. He's going to have a lovely surprise.

Also a hard boiled egg.
