Is this where I blame iPhone and cuss like an old fighter pilot's wife?

It's something different.  Details are in the email.  I'm only using this for the subject title.

Sad to say I'm still completely underwhelmed by COPAA's uniform failure to really plug into the paradigm needed to understand access issues for food allergic students. At this point I still can't recommend them despite their general acknowledgment of Fox Chapel.  As an organization they know it was a loss but not remotely why and almost in a way that would be detrimental to this community of FA families as a whole.

However, I'm not giving up and I would not discourage anyone from joining.  But if you're a FASer for life and you hold true to the advocacy style here don't expect reciprocity there.

I still found it interesting.  Perhaps they could have a FAS call in night where the topic is entirely LTFA. I'd be happy to participate.  IMO, it seems that most advocates and attorneys are heavily focused on IDEA.  Not that that's wrong, because if the majority of their cases are IDEA related, of course that's their focus.  But they seem to get confused when it comes to 504.  I have experienced directly a state DOE mediator asking me, the parent, questions about the requirements of 504 and how it differs from IDEA.  I'm glad she was willing to ask.  I was pleased to answer.

So sorry I could not participate . . . we'll get them up to speed eventually.

Remember how long it took to get other Food Allergy orgs up to speed and accepting of 504s and disability rights?

We'll get them there.

We're already there.
