Fingers crossed everyone! I'm at allergist with 16 year old ds doing baked egg challenge. The last one a few years ago ended in epi. Really hoping this goes well!!
Got my fingers crossed! I'll be following this throughout the morning.
Hang in there!
Fingers crossed. Thinking of you and your DS.
Hope things are going well!! Thinking of you!
He finished the muffin. No symptoms other than he says throat feels dry?? Drank water. Also needs to go to bathroom. Trying to distinguish stomach ache...normal bm stuff or allergy. I don't know where we stand at the moment but I don't think he will need epi.
Thanks guys!:)
Hope everything is going well.
:crossed: :crossed: :crossed:
Hope it continues to go well!
We are home, he went to bathroom and then asked for Benadryl said his throat felt weirdly dry and stomach felt weird. He feels better after Benadryl so I think my plan is to cut dose in half and see how he does with that for a bit. I was thinking of cm deux today...I remember her very detailed baked egg thread. Good news is no epi but I wouldn't call this a pass either. Thanks for hanging with me. Glad to be home.
Glad no epi was needed, the half dose plan sounds like a good place to start.
Whew - glad no epi. Did the MD call it a pass?
Yes doc called it a pass but by the time we got home he felt worse. This matches his pattern with egg. I will see how he feels tomorrow about eating half a muffin and then I will probably call doctor.
Yup, I'd definitely check before giving him more. Darn, a clear pass would have been really awesome.
So how was he feeling about it, My3Guys—in retrospect?
Calmer today. Kind of leaning towards small reaction. He hasn't had any egggy muffins today. Just decompressing. We will see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for asking Mac. Just to state the obvious allergies are a royal pain sometimes!!
And after a day off — boom! Progress!!! He ate half a muffin. Had no symptoms. Then I brought home these treasure mill cupcakes that are labeled nut free. Doctor said he can have baked things with egg as long as egg is third ingredient or lower. These were labeled for him to eat and he had half of that too! No symptoms! I think part of his problem is the muffin itself. We used the same recipe when he had reaction that needed epi. Finding something delicious and a treat which he's never had a store bought cupcake before made a big difference in his willingness. Gosh I'm so excited!!!!!
My3, that is so exciting! A game changer! :happydance:
Oh, that's wonderful!
At a (very nice) gas station here we get these Two Bite cupcakes. OMG they are so good. I wonder if it's the same company. I tend to see the same OF cookies in several stores that look like Loft House but have a different name. Same box, same taste, same cookie. I aexreteky suspect it's one company making the cookies and cupcakes.
Mac these are called school safe on front, come in chocolate and vanilla and also make cookie type bars. I get them at whole paycheck. Another cupcake today!☺️

We used to get the mini loafs in the freezer section in IL. My kids loved them. Glad things are working out!
Thanks all and thanks for link Hezzier!
This is wonderful! I hope he continues to tolerate the baked egg over the long term.
Thanks Space! So far so good! He's had his cupcake dose daily without any issue!
