Has anyone seen if these read safe?
Saw this around the internet

And, the company has plans in the works to update its snack cake line to include products that are more appealing to younger consumers, lighter on the calories and possibly gluten free. Don't rule out new treats flavored with peanut butter or packaged in bite-sized portions, said executives at Hostess
Of course....darn it!
There's a contact form on their website. I've sent a pleading message to keep PB products in a seperate facility. http://hostesscakes.com/About (http://hostesscakes.com/About) - form is toward the bottom.
I did just call them, I only asked about peanuts though since that is all I am concerned about & was told that ALL of their facilities are peanut free. ;D

I'm wondering how long that will be true, since they seem to be threatening to make peanut butter flavored ones.
No, I did not make these but since Twinkies are back, thought I would post them

Someone on facebook said they called and there are walnuts in the facility but not on the same lines. They are not labeled for shared facility with walnut.
this is the picture of the ingredient list I saw on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151762894880692&set=p.10151762894880692&type=1&theater (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151762894880692&set=p.10151762894880692&type=1&theater)
There is no nut warning? TWINKIES here always had the warning. I hope they come out with the chocolate cupcake again!

Facility 2300 has the walnuts from my understanding but not all of the facilities that make Twinkies have walnuts.
Can I just say that I really hate codes and I remember why I never bought anything from certain companies that tell me which codes to look for.

I asked the rep about that & she hadn't heard anything about them having any plans to do so.....fingers crossed that they don't!
Only Walmart has them here! I sent my dh to store. Giant said they are at Walmart.
Seems like the consistent information is walnut in the facility, but not on the same lines. They will only put a warning for same-equipment. Not for same facility.
Found package in store with peanut/nut warning.
From their Facebook page.
Are any of your products safe for people with peanut/nut allergies? Are warnings put on any products that may be in contact with those allergens? I could not find this info on your web page. TIA

Hostess: Thanks for reaching out! All of our products will be nut-free except our Mini Muffins! Be sure to check our packaging for information about allergens.

Geez. As usual they're giving inconsistent information. Are the mini muffins the walnut containing item that is in the same facility but not the same lines?
From their product page:
MINI MUFFINS
FUN FOR MOUTHS OF ALL SIZES.
Even the biggest bigmouth can enjoy Mini Muffins. That's because they're the perfect size for snacking. Enjoy Banana Walnut, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip and decadent Brownie Bites, in multipack or single serve.
So, the mini muffins have walnut.

A twinkies package?? At the facebook group several people were told all twinkies are from the nut free facility. I guess it's good that they're putting warnings on them, at least.
Twinkies and two different cupcakes.

I posted on their fb page about this.....and it appears they've hidden it.
I wasn't rude. I posted the original info from their fb page (posted within this thread) then the fact that the packages have a warning.
FWIW - My non-allergic friends have posted that they taste gross, nothing like they did prior to going out of business.
I just discovered, they did NOT hide my post. It's n a different page...but that is just ow fb works, not anything Hostess is doing.
And ya, YKW, it seems a lot of people are not enjoying them. (Although, complaints on FB don't necessarily mean anything.)
twinkies are sold out everywhere around me. I saw a stack one day and the next day they were all gone.
My kids have eaten the Donettes and the cupcakes with no warning on package. So they should, in fact, have a warning? I want to make sure I understand this? Is hostess hiding that thy may contain allergies?
Hostess is only the brand the manufacturer is... wait, only crude analogies are coming to mind I'll come back to this when I can get to at least a PG-rated analogy.
I called Hostes yesterday regarding the Donettes. I was told that all of the bakeries are peanut free.
Currently there is one bakery that makes the banana walnut mini-muffins, bakery #2300.
The remaining bakeries: 2100, 2200, and 2400 do not make those mini-muffins.
The rep did say that always read the packaging before purchasing as the bakeries may change.
When in doubt on a product from any company, call the manufacturer directly.
If you aren't satisfied with their answer, don't buy the product.
I think what's not clear is who the actual manufacturers are and how closely is the corporate brand in relation to the manufacturers and how do those contracts run if it is a contractual relationship between the reformed Hostess Brands, LLC. Further when you do call is it a CS rep or someone at a manufacturing facility. Rhetorical question.
The policy and inconsistency for labeling differences per region or per call seem to be line with the pre-2013 Hostess Brands (sans LLC) when they were manufactured by Interstate Bakeries if I remeber correctly. Anaphylactic dairy and wheat allergies since then so I lost track by the time the union strike occured and bankruptcy declaration ensued. IBC is no longer with the brand sold off.
I can't buy any of the products due to our allergen set but for those that can I do know that they have called in the past and we/they have had a seriously inconsistent experience with are there nuts in the facility or line or not. It was only by sharing those individual calls directly to the brand itself with each other that we discovered those inconsistencies.
I guess I will be calling the next time I buy them.

to be a little clearer. On the
facebook page they said the products were safe for pa. On the
package there was a clear may contain warning.
Thank you for clearing that up. All packaged read safe here, but I will still call tomorrow.
From what I have read (please note that I have not called them personally) if the plant code is 2300 there are walnuts in the facility and if the code is 2100 there are no nuts in the facility. They told people they are only putting a warning on if it's on a shared line, not if it's a shared facility.
Apparently they don't make anything with peanuts. So if you don't avoid tree nuts (walnuts, specifically) you may not need to worry.
