I did realize there's not a specific size....I'm just saying...I'm gonna need a bigger one.

That is awesome. I'm going to need a bigger size.  :hiding:
The pattern is based entirely on your waist circumference and phone circumference.  There are no sizes, so to speak.  The one I am making today has rainbows and unicorns on it... More from the scrap bucket.  The joys of having little kids to sew for: awesome looking fabric scraps.  I will document its creation with many photos and notes so a pattern PDF will be available soon.

And then I can get back to making the quilt for my husband that was supposed to be finished for our anniversary in September...  :hiding:

Note: if your waist is significantly smaller than your hips (like me), this has to go on over your head and shoulders.  If you have a big chest and big hips with a small waist, this pattern probably won't work well for you.  That, or you need really stretchy fabric or a pattern hack with enclosed elastic.

With two EpiPens and an iPhone 4S:

I want it to fit a bit more snug for under clothing but this is still the most comfortable EpiPen carrier I have in my collection, probably the best for my eczema too since it has no buckles or straps to irritate the skin.

I made one! My serger hated sewing through three layers of thick swim fabric and one cotton Lycra, so it isn't perfect, but it works!

One layer of Hello Kitty cotton Lycra and three layers of bright pink swim fabric from my scrap pile.

The pattern is pretty rough right now.  I understand it, but it requires quite a bit of explaining if you don't have a keen sense of descriptive geometry. I will make another one today and try to take better photos along the way (without my serger vomiting all over it.). My goal is to have a PDF made with photos and instructions, though I am not a pattern designer and am not super great at explaining things with words, so you may need to stay in email contact if you have any questions about it.  Please PM me with your email address if you want instructions.

Edited to add: I just went for a run with this and it is much more comfortable than a SPIbelt! Why didn't I make this five years ago? I might make mine a smidge taller to fit my phone better (my original idea didn't include top stitching, otherwise my phone would fit perfectly), but I will include instructions on how to adjust the sizing to fit under or over clothes and to fit whatever size phone you have.

I only have expired EpiPens in mine for testing but I think I may swap out for the good ones so I don't have to take this off.  Hurray!

Ok, it is on the board! I have some baby clothes to sew and some work to do on a quilt first. I will make a generic pattern that can be altered based on waist size (or size of where you want it to sit).

I never got around to it... but I could draft up a pattern if anyone is interested.  I will add it to my sewing projects for November.

I never posted back here - the Flipbelt would work GREAT for Allerjects/Auvi-Qs (x2), EpiPens (x2), and smart phones.  It just didn't come small enough to fit me - boo!  I have that body type where nothing sits around my hips - they will always ride up to my natural waist which is tiny.  I may try to make one on my own to fit.

Did you ever make your own? Simple pattern you're willing to share?

Ordered and returned both the waist pal and leg holster.  Waist pal will not work for swim team dryland since he would have an epi sitting against his back...it also didn't fit well in terms of his body is not wide enough for it, would fit much better on a larger body (DS is in size 10/12 pants).  As for the leg holster, I'm not sure if we needed a bigger size...it almost didn't fit around his calf which is weird since again he is not a very big kid.  It was also quite bulky to pull a pant leg down over it.

We ended up buying another spi belt.

Back to this topic...DS's SPI belt needs to be replaced, lots of small rips from friction.  When he started self-carrying this year at school, he just put the spi belt with epis in his cargo shorts pocket.  Now that it's getting colder out, he wore cargo pants for the first time and the pocket is a slightly different size so they don't fit as well.  He needs new pants since last years are getting short, but in case I cant' find cargo pants that work, we need some other options.  Adding in that when he gets home from school, he attaches the spi belt to his swim backpack so it's visible on the outside.

I haven't ordered the leg holster yet, but think it might be a good solution to the cargo pocket issue and could be attached to the swim backpack.  Although, this would only be an option for him in the winter, he doesn't really want it to be visible all the time.

Does anyone have the waist pal?  My question is are the epis secured in there or is it just a tight fit?  My reason for asking is if we try to attach the waist pal to the swim backpack is there a possibility of the epi falling out of the holder?

Hezzier, yes, you should check. It wasn't covered by ours last year, but now is.  We have Express Scripts.
