Title: Malt O Meal cereals
Post by: Mezzo on August 26, 2020, 08:41:21 PM
We noticed that there are peanut varieties of Malt O Meal cereal now. There didn’t used to be. I emailed them. They’re owned by Post now, who emailed me back. They said that they share lines and don’t label for that.

“ Currently, we use the following allergens in our various production facilities: wheat, soy, milk, peanut and tree nut (almonds, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts).  We manufacture products on shared equipment; however, we follow a comprehensive allergen control program to manage these ingredients and protect food allergic consumers.

Food allergic consumers should rely on our package ingredient labels for the most accurate information on a product. If a product contains any of the FDA major eight allergens (egg, milk, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat) either as an ingredient or a component of an ingredient, the allergen will be clearly listed on the ingredient label in bold print.  We remind consumers to read the ingredient statement each time they purchase a product to ensure no changes have occurred.

Our cereals are not all made in the same facility. We do not label for shared lines and request that you call or email with the following information so we can provide accurate information regarding allergies. We recommend you contact with each box or polybag.”

So that’s a nope for us.
