Title: Deep Fried Turkeys
Post by: Foxy on November 19, 2012, 07:29:03 PM
My brother is making a deep fried turkey this year but he's buying a new fryer for me because the last one was made with peanut oil.

What is an alternative oil we can use?  I just saw a PDF for using canola oil but my computer won't let me look at it.

You want something that is about the same smoke-point as peanut oil. I believe my friends used corn oil a few years ago and it worked fine...another option might be safflower.

We can get safflower oil at WalMart can't we?

Thanks A!
