Do you trust Guittard chips for tree nut allergies. The website states that they have almonds in the facility but processed separately.
We do, yes.
Thanks CM! :) :)
We do too.
We do too. My most recent discovery is some new vanilla white chocolate ones. I think they are called Au Lait. My market had them on a seasonal display with a few other flavors that they don't carry all the time (the green mint chips, butterscotch and another one). They are the best white chocolate I have ever had. Just bought the last two bags in case they don't have them again.
Yeah, I really stocked up on the the seasonal Guittard chips, white chocolate, butterscotch, and green mint. I definitely got enough to get me through the year.
We trust and have used for years.
Thanks everyone! That is exactly what I wanted to hear! :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:
I found them on Big Lots over the weekend for $2.75...milk, semi and white chips.
DH's aunt found the mint meltaways (aka non-pareils) at Cracker Barrel. I have not seen Guittard here in years since Cost Plus/World Market stopped carrying them :(
YKW,
Let me know if you need Guittard chips. I've found a store locally that carries them. They store is not inexpensive but they do carry the milk chocolate chips and the white chocolate discs (those never last for any sort of baking in our house).
So my sister asked about Guittard chips the other day so I looked up their allergen statement again.
They have changed their website since the last time I looked...here's the info on semi sweet choc chips
https://www.guittard.com/our-chocolate/detail/semisweet-chocolate-chips (https://www.guittard.com/our-chocolate/detail/semisweet-chocolate-chips)
States PN free, but no statement on TN. Has anyone contacted them recently about TN?
Here's their allergen statement...I'm unsure where exactly choc chips are on this list
https://www.guittard.com/allergen-statement (https://www.guittard.com/allergen-statement)
This is what I got back when asking about TN and their baking chips...
There is no possiblity of tree nuts on the lines used for our chocolate chips. Almonds are run in our facility but on a separate dedicated line with no chance of cross contamination.

I am trying to find butterscotch chips locally. Anyone in the MA, NH areas see them anywhere?
Have not been to a Christmas Tree Shop yet this season, but I have always found them there during the Christmas season in past years.
UGH! I usually buy those at Whole Foods and I was just there but not in the baking aisle or I would have looked. Maybe you can call and ask if they have them in stock?
Maybe I will try asking my Roche Bros here to get some. They have all the other flavors. Why not butterscotch?
Big Lots had them last year. Haven't seen any in the stores, but I haven't been looking either.
None at Big Lots...only semi-sweet and milk chocolate.
I saw the butterscotch, vanilla and mint flavors at Wegmans today.
AFAIK, they have never carried them before and they don't have any of the regular chocolate kind there.
Oh, I know where there is a wegmans kinda near Becca. Maybe a half hour drive.
Yay! It may be that very one that is right next to where DH works, Hedgie! :crossed:
Aldis is carrying a brand of butterscotch chips under their name that is marked nut free.
Oh, dh can get me Aldi chips when he goes to his mother's bday gathering.
Some people on the fb page have said the baking chips at their aldi no longer say nut free facility. I haven't looked in a while.
my roche brothers has the guittard butterscotch, white chocolate aand mint chips, not in the baking aisle but in a special display of holiday baking items near the meat counter.
Called my store and my guy got me 3 bags of each, white and butterscotch, that will be there this afternoon! At CS desk with my name on them. :)
I found white ones at the Christmas tree shop.
