^ I  have been seeing the exact same thing for minutes-to-an-hour elsewhere on the web, so I suspect this is true-- it's SSL testing and patching.

The site was down at the server level, so we suspect they may have been making sure there weren't any OpenSSL vulnerabilities.

I've had issues with the board being really slow today.  Other sites have been working fine.

Awesome!!

I wondered if it might have been a server attack-- the off-and-on thing, and seemed to be slow even when it was "on" there for quite a bit.

Wasn't sure if it was OLI or SMF-based, though-- hard to say from error messages (which were also intermittent).

Glad to know that wasn't software!!

It's not an SMF issue - that's our forum software - but a server issue (OLI).  I contacted customer support at OLI and they responded within minutes.  We've been emailing back and forth for the last 30 minutes or so.  Here's the latest:

QuoteWe pinpointed the site on the server that was under attack and causing the high traffic, and are working on a solution now so the server should go back to normal.

   OLI!

I've noticed it down a few times in the last few weeks.

Yeah--I noticed it down for at least an hour, but by the posting time stamp I'd say we were down an hour and a half.

And the. Again after I posted this for just a few minutes.

I noticed that, too.  Definitely an SMF issue, given the error messages that I got when tinkering with the different redirects.

I'm not sure what's going on with our server - I'm hoping they're working on an update or something.  Our forum software alerts me via email every time it can't connect to our server.  Generally that's been few and far between.  Recently however, it's been happening more and more frequently.  Luckily it only lasts a few minutes each time.
