You should need to eat super foods. Super foods are basically foods that are especially good for you- usually because they have lots of the key vitamins such as Vit C, B12, or minerals such as Calcium and Iron. The name has been used as a marketing tool for many companies, which can say things like- these blueberry muffins contain a superfood (but in fact the high sugar and fat content don't make them so healthy) Nevertheless, Link removed by Admin Super foods are good for you, and can be a useful way of ensuring that you have a nutritionally healthy and balanced diet.

Common Super foods include: Tomatoes, blueberries, Kiwi Fruits, Apples, Oily Fish (I assume you won't eat that as a vegetarian though!) bananas, and many types of nuts, as well as dark green vegetables such as broccoli, Chard and Spinach

Milk is also a good source of key nutrients, as it has lots of calcium and Vitamin D

Specifically for vegetarins it is important to replace what you are not getting from meat. So for example, the iron present in red meats should be replaced with lots of dark green leafy vegetables. You also need to ensure you get enough protein, this can be found in pulses (lentils and beans) and eggs and soya products such as tofu.perhaps try different versions of meat based food, such as Chilili con carne with extra kidney beans instead of meat, and nut loaf instead of meat loaf- nuts such as brazil nuts, cashew nuts and pistachios are a great source of vitamins, protein and fibre.

Staples of a Vegetarian Diet

A balanced vegetarian diet should include:

* Grains and cereals: Wholegrain bread, brown rice, wholewheat pasta, muesli.
* Legumes, nuts and seeds: Soya beans. kidney beans, split peas, lentils, almonds, cashews, sesame seeds
* Fruit and vegetables: As much as you want - think variety. Try new fruits and vegetables and include them in your diet every day
* Dairy or soya products: Look out for fat free and reduced calorie options for milk, yoghurts, cheeses.

Are you keeping a food diary?

It really sounds as though you have some difficult challenges with food which may include something underlying that hasn't been uncovered.

My suggestion is that you probably need to be working with an allergist who is willing to do some very aggressive in-office food challenges so that you have an adequate diet-- what you're describing sounds like a really inadequate intake of both nutrients and micronutrients.   :-/

So, in order, what I'd be doing:

1.  look for a FOOD allergy specialist (not all board-certified allergists are food allergy specialists)

2.  Keep a food diary-- list EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth, and what happens to you that could even possibly be correlated.  Be very very detailed-- list brands, times, etc.

3.  If you're seeing an alternative/complementary practitioner (chiropractor, homeopath, naturopath) understand that those people are likely to be giving you bad, bad, bad advice re: food allergy, and if they are offering you advice on food allergy, you should RUN...  (I mention that because you bring up some concepts that are generally unsound re: food allergy, which makes me wonder who you've been getting recommendations from)

Next, this is a super-helpful resource for some of the weirder questions that come up re: IgE-mediated allergy and related issues:

Be aware that IgG testing is NOT the same thing as "food allergy" testing

Re: candida in particular.

General issues surrounding the notions of intestinal permeability and allergy (well, and seemingly everything else under the sun, too)--

Okay.  Whew.  Now that the PSA is over with, there, please, please, please make sure that you are getting GREAT advice from an allopathic physician (or probably, in light of the liver issues you mention) a TEAM of them.

You can't live without good nutrition.  Obviously.  You also can't live while eating things to which you are allergic-allergic (as in, IgE-mediated).  When those two things collide via Multiple Food Allergy, that's bad enough-- but when the picture also includes another chronic and life-threatening medical condition (such as diabetes, coronary disease, liver dysfunction, etc. etc. etc.) then it is critical to get the best medical advice possible.

I'm concerned for you that your practitioners seem to be leaving you to figure things out all on your own-- and that's simply not cool in this situation.  Cruciferous veggies are gas-producers, for sure-- but that is NOT the same thing as "I must be allergic to this as well."   It's important that you be mentioning to a medical professional just how limited your diet is at the moment-- and that the person listening understand your concerns.

I'm really sorry that food has become such an incredible challenge for you.  I don't usually say this-- but-- we probably can't help you figure this one out without a lot more input from your medical professionals.

Fats and carbs are basically one of the only ways to get adequate nutrition.  Eliminating either one completely is going to lead to major malnourishment.    I'm also deeply concerned that you may be relying upon an alt-med practitioner and supplements-- which is VERY VERY dangerous in someone with a compromised liver.    That industry is largely unregulated, and liver damage is not at all uncommon as a side effect of many herbal/CAM supplements.

Yes, I've been tested by two separate allergists. I have been eating some broccoli and mushrooms this week but I'm looking for more calories. I've tried quino and oats and it tore my stomach up pretty bad.  If I eat any latex cross reaction foods I get hives and migraines. No apples, banana, carrots etc.  Brussels sprouts give me horrible gas along with other cabbage like foods but I still eat them on occasion. I take probiotics and have been doing things to help heal a possible leaky gut. I spent a year on the candida leaky gut diet with supplements and it didn't change anything. I also did a 6 month parasite cleanse along with a a liver flush. Also didn't change anything. I'm having a hard time finding a multivitamin that doesn't contain things I'm allergic to. Is there a way to get calories without fats? I don't have a gallbladder and have a fatty liver so I have to watch how much fat I eat. I'm on a modified paleo/gaps diet right now.

I don't think you should take risks.  :-/

Have you been tested by a board certified allergist for these? And a blood test?  Migraines aren't a symptom of food allergy, btw.  You may want to took for a different cause.

Have you tried quinoa?  Ancient Harvest has been safe for our PA family.  It has great protein. There are a lot of vegetables you could try--other cruciferous veggies.

I am allergic to grains, legumes, dairy, gluten, latex, cross reaction latex and gluten as well. I can not have carbs and sugars due to diabetes. I can not have a lot of fats due to fatty liver. I am down to 92 pounds at 5' 7". What am I supposed to eat? Seems like I can have skinless boiled organic chicken and some times kale and oranges on a rare ocassion. I'm lost as what to eat without being covered in hives itchy can't sleep with migraines and upset stomach. :( I need calories and I have been eating things I'm allergic to just to be able to eat but there's only so much benedryl I can have. Anyone on a low fat paleo diet with limited foods?
