Title: Wonderful Pistachios
Post by: Irene on September 01, 2014, 10:06:10 AM
Hi, I don't know if someone else may already have posted about this, but I recently saw that the company that makes Wonderful Pistachios also makes almonds.  I don't know if this means their pistachios are now cross contaminated with almond?  I'm bringing this up because there is a very helpful thread about where to get tree nuts for food challenges that are are not cross contaminated with peanut or other nuts and Wonderful Pistachios was recommended as a source for pistachios.

They are not.  :)

DS needed a safe almond for an almond challenge and this is what Mt. Sinai recommended.  I called them just to be sure.  They are grown and processed completely separately.

DS has been eating their almonds safely since December 2013.

I was going to ask this same question after I saw the Wonderful almonds in the store alongside the pistachios.

Thanks for the update!

VERY helpful, as Zinke is only seasonal.

Hmmmm . . . but I still have another concern as their website shows product line with a "Nuts & Fruit" item?

Am gonna try to remember to call them this coming week for a bit more clarification, as I don't see more info on the website?
