Noah is 12 years old and has recently had his first reaction on public transportation. Fortunately, it ended well, but it reminded me that I have not kept up with instructions for him about how to deal with a reaction when he's not with me. Like most 12 year olds, Noah is keen to be out and about without his parents trailing behind him all the time. Like most parents, this desire for more independence suits me, as I feel freer to pursue my work and activities a little further from home. But there needs to be an action-plan and I've let things slip a bit in this department. Noah's recent reaction was a bit of a wake-up call.
