I've settled for Swedish Fish for now.  I contacted Gimbal's to ask for ingredients, since I am allergic to so many foods.  I never received a precise response, so I had to pass on ordering from them =(

catelyn, let me know if you get brave enough to try that recipe! Lol

Red licorice was my weakness.  I've gone years and years without it.  I might just have to cave and buy some.

I have been tempted by this but making candy scares me.

The Gimbal's Scottie Dogs are not too bad.  I'd prefer a stronger licorice taste, but I'll take what I can get.  :)

I just saw that!  I'm thinking I might order a little sampler pack.  Kinda pricey for candy, but a once in a while allergen-free treat is worth it. Lol

Thanks for the info!  The Scottie dogs are so cute!  I guess I could have specified that I wasn't necessary looking for black licorice; I've been craving Twizzlers lately.  The Gimbal's website looks great, I will probably be spending so much money on candy now! Lol

I haven't tried the Scotties, but I bet they're awesome.  Gimbal's has great licorice jellybeans.

If you google gluten free licorice there are lots of hits, but I don't remember ever actually finding any for DS when he couldn't have wheat. (But that was a long time ago before gluten free was a "thing".)

ETA:  peanutfreeplanet.com sells Gimbal's Licorice Scottie Dogs that are gluten free.

I am allergic to wheat and cannot seem to find any gluten-free licorice in store.  Does anyone know of a website to order from, or a store that would carry it?
