I was thinking about getting dh a keurig for Christmas. I could get him the 'my k-cup' thing but wondered also if there are any particular k-cups you trust for pa/tna? DD doesn't drink coffee but dh has a bad habit of stirring the sugar into his coffee and then rinsing the spoon and putting it back in the drawer.
We're getting ready to buy a Keurig.. What is safe and what is not?
I haven't looked at them personally, but when I suggested to DS that I get a Keurig for his dorm room, he said he had not seen any k-cups without a PN or TN warning.
I am no help on the cups but I do know when I looked into it that they make a fill your own cup accessory that would allow you to fill with coffee that is safe for you.
I personally drink too much coffee to make a Keurig cost effective :/
I found this, but not sure what to think!

We have had a Keurig for two years. I LOVE IT!!!
I know the nut flavours are artificial, but I just cannot bring myself to drinking them. Thinking about drinking a hazelnut coffee gives me anxiety. I do use non-nut flavoured coffee in my son's Keurig, and he does drink nut flavoured. (Artificial nut.)
We do have some of the fill your own cups. If you use them, I think you need to buy coarse ground coffee. The fine stuff ends up in your cup and you have a major clean-up in the machine.
FYI, the flavours we've bought include
Timothy's
Van Houte
Boston Bean (I think that's what it was)
Tim Horton's
Folger's
Lipton tea
Celeste Tea
And a store brand....I think it was Walmart.
I'm new to coffee, so do you add actual coffee into the Keurigs? Do you use the Green Mountain brand (which sounds safe?)
With the Keurig you can buy pods that have the coffee in them, or you can buy a reusable pod that you put your own coffee into. Not instant coffee.
All the coffee and tea I've checked have been safe IMO. But, the hit chocolates all have may contain warnings. For our son we buy the envelopes of hot chocolate that you mix with boiling water. He puts it in the cup, and pour water with no pod. That way it does not contaminate the machine.
Are you in the US? And what brand hot chocolate do you use?
I'm in Canada, but the k-cups are made in US.
The hot chocolate is not a k-cup. I don't drink it, my non-food allergic son does. The hot chocolate k-cups that I checked had nut warnings.
Dunkin Donuts have seasonal hot cocoa cups with no nut warning. Contains milk and soy (I have not checked further than that, just noticed read the label today).
I've been drinking the Swiss Miss hot chocolate k-cups and the Cafe Escapes Dark hot chocolate k-cups. There aren't any nut warnings, and I haven't called.
