I'm starting a thread. Because I need some basic crust recipes for DD to use.

The easiest pie crust to handle for beginners, IME, is probably any of the cream-cheese based ones. They are quite forgiving of over-handling.
The flavor also marries well with a lot of different fillings-- savory or sweet.
Okay THIS looks luscious:
Chicken-and-veggie hand pies (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chicken-and-Veggie-Hand-Pies/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=hand%20pie&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Recipe)
So I do this with the Pillsbury stuff--different variations. Last week it was shallots and carrots and spinach and hmmmm something else. Often it's spinach and feta. I am a cheater and adore using the Pillsbury dough. DH thinks it's an abomination. The solution is simple: I do this when he has an evening meeting and it's just ds and me. :)
Are these like Cornish pasties?
YES!!
JUST like them, in fact.
