But it's white bread

Talking with a friend whose children I watched while she had surgery.  Her father's suggestion was to repay us by making a meal.  She said yeah, no dad - you don't understand the stress that would put YKW under - let's go with a gift card to a local eating establishment instead.  (Forget the fact that cooking dinner would have put her in a position of standing post surgery).  FWIW, she didn't even need to do the gift card - I was happy to help out considering she took my son Trick or Treating when I could not (that meant all the world to me and him).

I'm Wondering if she intended them only for my husband to eat?  But, she knows I have had serious reactions when HE eats my allergens.  She knows he ONLY eats them when he's away on business.

Oh well!  I'll play nice.

Makes you want to say "Oh, well, then, don't worry-- you'll hardly even notice the ambulance when it pulls up out front..."   :paddle:

Well if you don't notice them, you can't possibly react to them right?

Company coming.  She had the sense to call to ask if it was OK to bring fruit cake for us.  She got the recipe from me, but still thought to check.

My recipe does call for almonds.  I don't use them.  So I asked her if she put the almonds in.

"Ewww!  No.  I don't like almnds.......I use brazil nuts."  So I said no thanks, they're still nuts.  And she says "Don't worry, they're all chopped up and you won't even notice them."

Unexpected anaphylaxis is apparently preferable to planned anaphylaxis.....
