Title: Safe Maraschino Cherries?
Post by: brownie on February 26, 2016, 12:57:05 PM
Does anyone know anything about safe maraschino cherries for PA/TNA? We are not almond allergic. My youngest with no known allergies wants to bake a cake with mice on top for his scout banquet.  They will be made out of chocolate coated cherries with the stem as the tail but it would be nice if his brothers could eat the cake! I haven't bought maraschino cherries in 14 years because I've never concerned myself enough to see if there was a safe brand before.  Thanks!

DD has eaten Safeway brand.  But I don't know if those have stems intact-- rather thinking they didn't.    We also strongly suspect that she may not actually be almond-allergic, so there is that, also.  She has extreme sensitivity to walnut, pistachio, and cashew in addition to peanut, though.

It's possible to make your own.

And I do know Cella chocolate covered cherries are safe for PA. But no stems.
