GMJ Natural Products Inc. of Anaheim, Ca, is recalling its 32 fl oz jugs of "Jugo Moringa Plus Antioxidant" because they may contain undeclared whey protein. People who have allergies to milk or soy lecithin run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled "Jugo Moringa Plus Antioxidant" 32 fl oz jugs were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.
The product comes in a 32 fl oz, white plastic jug marked with lot # 15094,15258,15310,16053 and 16091 on the bottom.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the whey protein-containing product was distributed in jugs with a label that did not reveal the presence of whey protein. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.
Production of the product has been suspended until FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.
Consumers who have purchased 32 fl oz jugs of "Jugo Moringa Plus Antioxidant" are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-714-254-0682 M-F from 9am-4pm pacific time.
